Labesh Kumar

I am a PhD Candidate in Economics at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, on the job market for 2026–2027 academic year. 

My research focuses on macroeconometrics, monetary policy, business cycles, and regional heterogeneity in macroeconomic responses. My current work studies measurement of the output gap and the regional transmission of monetary policy across U.S. states. Before joining UWM, I worked at the State Bank of Pakistan on financial inclusion and regional banking policy.
